Summary:
The Retail/ Visitor Center Manager will provide exceptional leadership and strong supervision to the daily operation of the Bayou Rum retail center and visitor center event activities. The scope of responsibility includes the management of the all aspects of the Retail operations, including staff. The Retail/ Visitor Center Manager will also be in charge of all visitor center related planning and events. The Louisiana Spirits Retail/ Visitor Center Manager will report to the Louisiana Spirits Managing Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leading and Planning:
Completes retail store operational requirements by scheduling
and assigning employees; following up on work results.
Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating
and financial statements and departmental sales.
Organize and coordinate the schedule the event center staff, as
well as the retail staff. Manger will also be responsible for the
coordination and planning of all public and private events.
Procurement of new and existing retail items. This will include
research and development of new items for retail center.
Organization Development:
Develop and implement clear performance objectives for all
employees.
Ensure good people management practices to meet the targets
and objectives within each area of the business.
Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion
and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements
for profitability ratios.
Control, Supervision, Budgeting and Expenses:
Supervise all daily operations of the retail/visitor center to
deliver high performance all year round.
Deliver cost targets according to corporate strategic objectives,
developed with Managing Director.
Negotiate and supervise the execution of contracts with outside
vendors and customers.
Order necessary merchandise at a competitive price with a
focus on items that will maximize sales for the retail center.
Manage and troubleshoot POS system and provide training to
staff on POS system.
Training of sales, tours and tastings for distillery events.
Develop and maintain the sales and promotion activities of the
retail and visitor center.
Manage supplies for visitor center.
Provide monthly sales reports.
Develop and design advertising for visitor center.
Manage and cultivate tourism, by maintaining relationships with
local government and attending tourism conferences.
Manage all aspects of online store; marketing, promotions,
photography of items, coordinating inventory and shipping.
Coordination of all aspects of public and private events held at
the distillery.
Review employee time cards/sheets for accuracy and budget
control.
Additional duties may be assigned by the Managing Director.
Qualifications:
BS with concentration in Merchandising/Business-Management
or Administration.
Microsoft office 2010+, AccuPOS systems, SAP
Excellent command of english, excellent communication skills
and command of business language.
